Glenn Dale Gilbreath passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, just two days before his 74th birthday. He was born Jan. 19, 1939, in Ector, Texas, to Knox Claude and Lillie Pearl Gilbreath.

Glenn Dale owned and ran Gilbreath Plating on Jacksboro Highway, where he made so many lifelong friends. Fish fries were his specialty. Glenn Dale, along with his son, Derrell, and friends Hank Dulong and Eddie Long, cooked the best fish you ever ate. His last fish fry was for his brother, Gerald Gilbreath, at Sunbelt Glaziers for their Christmas party, which he did annually and will be fondly remembered for forever. Glenn Dale loved to go to his sister Margie’s home in Fairview where he hunted, fished, and stayed in his

“bunk house” built just for him. He made the local news many times showing off his fish catch or hunted game. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish on many Texas lakes and enjoyed hunting in Colorado as well. Great stories about Glenn Dale by his friends and family will keep his memory and spirit alive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Samuel Quinton Gilbreath; sister Lillie Mae Ford; and brother-in-law Gene Lothringer.

Glenn Dale is survived by sister Margie Lothringer; brother Gerald Gilbreath and wife Wanda; brother-in-law Harold Ford; son Derrell Glenn Gilbreath; stepsons Daryl Ray, Mark, Keith, and Dallas; ex-wives Mattie Lou, Didi, and Erma; soul mate Dottie; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, Jan. 20, from 6-8 p.m. in the Greenwood Funeral Home in Fort Worth.

A graveside service was held on Monday at 10 a.m. in the Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth.

Memorial donations may be made to the Community Hospice of Texas, 1111 Summit Ave., Fourth floor, Fort Worth, TX 76102.
