Tigers to host hit-a-thon

FLORESVILLE -- In an effort to raise money for equipment and field repairs, the Floresville Tiger baseball team will host a hit-a-thon this Saturday, Feb. 9, beginning at 11 a.m. at Tiger Baseball Field.

Members of the Tiger baseball team will have donors make a pledge “per foot” and the furthest hit out of 10 attempts will be recorded. So a 5-cent pledge would pay $15 for a 300-foot hit.

In addition, anyone interested in taking some swings themselves, can participate with a minimum donation of $10. Adults and children of all ages are encouraged to participate. In addition to the on-field action, there will be music and concessions for those in attendance.
