Help Wanted

ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Richard Lorenz, 77, of Seguin, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013. He was born on March 14, 1935, in Corpus Christi to Johnny and Margaret Barnes Lorenz. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and son Richard Douglas Lorenz.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Jane Lorenz; daughter Michelle Valicek; grandchildren Taylor Lorenz, Jaren Lorenz, Evan Valicek, and Mason Valicek; father-in-law Frank Leone; sisters-in-law Shirley Wiseman and Deborah Berg and husband Malcolm; brother-in-law Frank Leone and wife Linda; nephews Stephen Berg and wife Molly, and Michael Berg; niece Brianna Wiseman; adopted granddaughter Karajayne Sanchez; numerous other family members; and many loving friends.

A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m. in St. Ann’s Catholic Church in La Vernia.

Interment will be held on Thursday, Feb. 14, at 9 a.m. in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging at www.cfcausa.org, or to a charity of one’s choice.
