Emilio V. Casanova passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, in San Antonio at the age of 66 years, 8 months, and 13 days. He was born on May 12, 1946, in Pandora, Texas, to Eduardo and Eva Martinez Casanova.

He was a former resident of Corpus Christi and a resident of Pandora for three months.

Emilio was preceded in death by his twin brothers, Arnold and Arthur Martinez.

He is survived by his mother, Eva Martinez of Stockdale; daughters Marilyn Brown and husband Steve of Hutto, and Cyndi Casanova, Belinda Casanova, and Geneva Casanova, all of Austin; son Emilio Casanova and wife Melissa of Austin; sisters Erma Martinez and Corina Salinas and husband Sealo, all of Stockdale, Julia Lopez and husband Refugio of Seguin, and Mary Ann Sauceda, Elia Garza, and Chica Balderas and husband Oscar, all of Corpus Christi; brothers Eddie Casanova and wife Elida and Billy Casanova and wife Carmen Martinez, all of Pandora, and Alfredo “Freddie” Martinez of Nixon; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, Feb. 8, at 5 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville.

A funeral service was held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ornelas officiating.

Interment followed in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Pandora.
