The Greater La Vernia Chamber of Commerce (GLVCC) and the Arthritis Foundation are teaming up this year to bring the sixth annual La Vernia Wild West HammerFest Bicycle Ride to La Vernia on Saturday, April 6. The chamber’s co-chairman for HammerFest is Barbara Magor with American Investment Planners in La Vernia. Patricia Bodet is the co-chairman for the Arthritis Foundation.

This year the HammerFest start/finish line will be on the campus of the La Vernia High School. Planning is under way with the school district and the La Vernia Police Department to assure a safe ride for the expected 300-500 riders who will follow the same routes as previous years, from La Vernia to St. Hedwig, New Berlin, Sutherland Springs, the Floresville area, and winding up back at La Vernia. Routes are 34, 53, and 65 miles long, plus a kiddie ride. Rest stops along the routes will provide breakpoints and refreshments for the riders. Registration is $25 plus a minimum fundraising pledge of $100.

Interested sponsors can contact Pat Bodet at 210-380-8171 or pbodet@arthritis.org.

For more information or to register for HammerFest, visit www.HammerFest Arthritis.org.

Where does that say they are "not" licensed in any state? What does this have to do with Hammerfest?
