William “Bill” Kenney, who for two years has served as the treasurer of the Wilson County Emergency Services District (ESD) No. 2 board of commissioners, now will serve as its president, following the board’s Feb. 4 meeting.
Kenney said after the meeting that the other officers for 2013 are:
•Dr. Royal Munro, vice president
•Roger Brickley, secretary
•Larry Phillips, treasurer
•Bob Gadd, assistant treasurer.
Also during the meeting, both the board and the Eagle Creek Volunteer Emergency Services (VES) signed a $104,122.04-per-year fire service contract, which is effective retroactive to Feb. 1. The contract expires Sept. 30. Kenney said the ESD entered into a firm, fixed-price agreement prorated to $8,676.84 per month.
Eagle Creek VES, which includes both a volunteer fire department and emergency medical services, also is the ambulance services provider for ESD No. 2. With regard to its ambulance functions, the board again tabled discussion of a request from Eagle Creek for the district to fund emergency repairs to both of its ambulances, pending the receipt of additional information from Eagle Creek VES.
