Help Wanted

The City of Poth is currently accepting applications for the position of Chief of Police. The Chief is responsible for all operational and administrative aspects of the police department, provide patrol, criminal investigations, crime prevention, enforce all laws and ordinances and be responsible for public health and safety. Must be community oriented, have strong public relations skills, strong work ethics, must be physically fit and maintain a professional image while in uniform. A High School Diploma or GED is required. Must have a valid Class C or higher Texas Driverís License. Must be TCLEOSE Master Peace Officer certified and have at least 5 years of experience with law enforcement agency; SWAT, Gang Unit, Narcotics or Detective experience a plus, pass a thorough background check investigation with drug screen and credit check. The City offers benefit package with retirement plan and medical insurance. Salary dependent on qualifications. EOE. Dennis and Sherry Marsh of Amarillo, Texas, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Lynn, to Matthew Alan Gleinser, the son of Gene and Lesa Bowers of Hartville, Mo., and Chris and Deb Gleinser of League City.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Stanley and Shirley Malone of La Vernia, and the late Oscar and Doris Marsh of Adkins.

Melissa is a 2003 graduate of Garden City High School, and a 2006 graduate of Oklahoma State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in marketing. She received a Master of Science in agriculture economics from Texas A&M University in 2009, and is currently employed with Dairy Farmers of America in Grapevine.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Gerald and Pat Klinkerman of Victoria, and Leo and Evelyn Gleinser of Goliad.

Matthew is a 2001 graduate of Goliad High School. He graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in economics, and in 2008 received his Master of Science in agriculture economics, both from Texas A&M University. He is currently employed with Dairy Farmers of America in Grapevine.

The couple will exchange vows in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in New Braunfels, Texas, on Saturday, March 2, 2013.
