Alice Rose Kolodziej Kopecki, 83, went to be with the Lord on the morning of Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013. She was born on Jan. 23, 1930, to John and Mary Kolodziej in Kosciusko, Texas.

Alice Rose married Chester George Kopecki Sr. on Jan. 10, 1949, and they had been married 62 years when he passed away in June 2011. She was a faithful, lifelong member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Kosciusko, where she was baptized, confirmed, and married and where she participated throughout the years as a member of the Altar Society. Alice Rose enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, quilting, baking, gardening, and fishing. She was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a gentle soul who loved her God, her family, and her many wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester George Kopecki Sr; her parents; her three brothers; and three sisters.

Alice Rose is survived by her children, Chester Kopecki Jr. and wife Patricia of McCoy, Dale Kopecki and John Kopecki and wife Wendy, all of Kosciusko, and Mary Fjetland and husband Randy of Buda; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Agnes Kolodziej and Elizabeth Kopecki; and various nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Thursday, Feb. 14, at 5 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Kosciusko, officiated by the Rev. Dennis Jarzombek.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. in the church, officiated by the Rev. Jan Szpilka.

Interment followed in St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery in Kosciusko.

Serving as pallbearers were Noelle Neudorfer, Aaron Kopecki, Alyssa Kopecki, Kayla Kopecki, Joshua Fjetland, and Randy Fjetland.
