Bernice A. Curry, 89, of Seguin passed away on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013. Bernice was born in Wilson County, Texas, on Sept. 3, 1923, to Roy Wells and Edna Achterberg Allbritton.

She was an active member and Sunday school teacher at the First Baptist Church in Seguin.

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Curry; her son, Jeff Curry; her parents; and her siblings, Fan Worsham, Ann Schnitz, Louise Koepp, John Allbritton, Lucile Vorpahl, and Roy Allbritton Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Patsy Machemehl Richardson of Plano, Phyllis McCallay and husband Floyd of Alvin, and Sandra Afflerbach and husband David of Seguin; sister Margaret Needham; grandchildren Terri Koch, David Machemehl, Traci Nichols, Mike McCallay, Brad McCallay, Greg McCallay, Melinda Pearson, and Scott Afflerbach; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, Feb. 18, at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Seguin.

A funeral service was held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the church with the Rev. Dr. Brice Mandaville officiating.

Graveside services and interment followed at 1:30 p.m. in the San Geronimo Cemetery in Seguin.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Mission Fund, 1314 E. Cedar St., Seguin, TX 78155.
