ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Offer condolences


Victor B. Lopez Sr., 77, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, in Stockdale. Victor was born on June 26, 1935, in Kosciusko, Texas, to Urvano and Dorothy (Spencer) Lopez.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Alex, Frank, Josephine, and Oralia.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Ada Lerma; his children, Victor B. Lopez Jr. and wife Mary Ann, Betty A. Soto and husband Abel, and Margaret A. Thurston and husband Keith Thurston Jr.; grandchildren Scotty, Bobby, Crystal, Christopher, Drew, Shay, and Macy; great-grandchildren Landon, Lindsey, Christian, Mason, Gavin, Cayson, and Drew Jr.; siblings Raymond, Margaret, Gloria, Betty, and Dorothy; other loving family; and many friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, Feb. 24, from 5-8 p.m. with a rosary vigil recited at 7 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale.

A funeral Mass was held on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Stockdale with the Rev. Dennis Jarzombek officiating.

Interment followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Stockdale.

Memorial contributions may be made by way of Mass intentions.
