Help Wanted

ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Offer condolences


Keith Allen Huffman passed away peacefully in his sleep in his residence on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013. He was born on July 13, 1962, in Pensacola, Fla., to Bobby Huffman and Peggy Hall.

Keith moved to San Antonio in 1990, then to Floresville in 2006. He loved watches, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and all animals. He also loved classic rock with his favorite song being “Tuesday’s Gone” by Lynyrd Skynyrd. As a small child, his favorite movie was “The Wizard of Oz.” Keith was a devoted, caring, and loving father and husband.

He was preceded in death by his foster parents, Earl and Beatrice Kaklhoffer; his mother, Peggy Hall; and his twin brother, Kelley Huffman.

Keith is survived by his wife, Jennifer Bond-Huffman; his children, Branden Huffman, Sara Huffman, Cheyenne Huffman, Travis Bond, and Austin Bond; his sisters, Suzanne McMullen of Mississippi and Robyn Sunday of Florida; his father, Bobby Huffman of Alabama; numerous in-laws; friends; and his cat, Jordan.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 9:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville, Texas.
