The La Vernia Lions Club invites any high school freshman, sophomore, or junior young lady who lives in the La Vernia Independent School District to participate in this year’s scholarship pageant event, scheduled for Thursday, May 9.

The Miss La Vernia Scholarship Pageant teaches and encourages healthy living, self-confidence, creative accomplishment, community service, and the pursuit of scholastic achievement among young ladies. Its goal is to inspire, motivate, and lift young ladies to the realization that they are strong, independent, capable people who can accomplish anything.

Applications for this year’s pageant are now available at the La Vernia High School counselor’s office or the La Vernia Christian Teaching Center, or can be downloaded from the La Vernia Lions Club website at http://www.lavernialions.org/misslv.html.

The application deadline is Monday, March 4. Completed applications may be submitted to the above locations, or mailed to La Vernia Lions Club, P.O. Box 291, La Vernia, TX 78121.
