Shannon Lee Jeanes-Stanush and Michael James Rawlings were united in holy matrimony on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, in a back-yard ceremony in La Vernia, Texas. The ceremony was officiated by Aaron Davis, a former classmate and friend of the bride and groom.

As the event took place on Veterans Day, the couple honored veterans with a video and the song “Proud To Be an American,” which featured family and friends of Shannon and Michael. Aaron Davis played “Taps” while former East Central High School classmate and friend, Chief Warrant Officer 4 Larry Purcell, lowered a flag to half-staff to honor those who died serving the United States, including Michael’s dad, James Arthur Rawlings.

Ashlee Carolyn Stanush, daughter of the bride, was Shannon’s maid of honor. She was escorted by Collin William Stanush, son of the bride.

James Arthur Rawlings II served as his father’s best man.

The reception dinner was served and dancing took place under the stars, as approximately 200 guests were entertained by DJ and friend, Danny Baumann.

Shannon and Michael are thankful to all those who helped make this day so special.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Corpus Christi, and are now residing in La Vernia, Texas.
