The South Texas stock show season is well under way. While exhibitors are competing in the Houston Livestock Show and with the Star of Texas Fair & Rodeo set to begin March 8, a Gonzales County show is set to begin just down the road in Nixon. This week, the Nixon-Smiley Livestock Show will be held Friday and Saturday, March 8-9, in the Nixon-Smiley Show Barn, located off U.S. 87. . . .
