Immanuel Lutheran Church is now hiring for a Youth and Family Ministry Director. Pastoral: Minister to youth and their families during Sunday School and other church programs, being present in their lives outside the church walls, available for common concerns and in crisis situations. Leadership: Recruit and nurture Youth and Family Ministry program. Administration : Manage the planning process and coordinate with Pastor and Youth Committee all regular ministries to youth and their families. This includes youth of all ages on Sunday mornings and mid-week events; assisting with Confirmation, special events, trips and retreats, and parent meetings. Stewardship: Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of youth programs, manage youth ministry budget, and collaborate with the sponsors of each Youth group. Ability to build, lead, and empower youth. Ability to implement a ministry vision. Familiarity with Lutheran Doctrine required; must be comfortable teaching it and representing Lutheran Theology. Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, email, internet, and social media. Supervisory experience preferred. Ability to adapt and evaluate curriculum preferred. Must have excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), and listening skills, with a high degree of initiative and accountability. Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills required, with sensitivity to church members and visitors. Understanding and enjoyment of youth and families and guiding their spiritual development. 1952-2013

Trinidad Muniz Marroquin Sr., a lifelong resident of Floresville, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013, in San Antonio at the age of 60 years, 4 months, and 12 days. He was born on Oct. 25, 1952, in Floresville, Texas, to Rafael and Jesusa Muniz Marroquin.

Trinidad was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Martha Garcia; and brothers Rafael Marroquin Jr. and Leopoldo Marroquin.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Lucio Marroquin; his children, Monica Marroquin Palacios, Maribel Marroquin, Trinidad “T.J.” Marroquin Jr., and Sandy Marroquin, all of Floresville; sisters Manuelita Montoya of San Antonio and Rebecca Robles of Floresville; brothers Richard Marroquin, Benito Marroquin, and Robert Marroquin, all of Floresville, and Elidoro Marroquin and Reynaldo Marroquin, both of San Antonio; grandchildren Isabel, Annabel, Brianna, and Jondo; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, March 10, at 5 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral service was held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reynaldo Marroquin officiating.

Interment followed in the Picosa-Martinez Cemetery No. 2 near Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Max Marroquin, Richard Marroquin, T.J. Marroquin, Junior Marroquin, Georgie Robles, and Ruben Palacios.

I grew up in Cañada Verde and knew Trinidad well, he and I had some good times when we were young. He will be missed by all. Our prayers are with the family especially his children. With Love Steve and Pat Menchaca
