William “Bill” Kelton Holder Jr., 64, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013. He was born on Nov. 25, 1948, to Doris Marie and William “Kep” Kelton Holder Sr.

Bill had three passions in his life, family, country, and duty. And the family farm. He was dedicated to his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Bill truly did enjoy terrorizing his family with his pranks. He used humor in every aspect of his life. Bill served 20 years in the U.S. Army. He retired as a sergeant first class and was a Vietnam veteran, receiving the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. During his career, Bill earned numerous awards and medals, including the Meritorious Service Medal. His commitment to the family ranch was a labor of love. He thrived in the outdoors. He enjoyed his cattle and baling hay. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved life and everything it had to offer, said his family.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandson, Sage Robert McCloskey.

He is survived by his four children, Kelly Marie and husband Scott, William “Willie” Kelton III, Albert Arthur, and John Phillip; his four grandchildren, Kassondra Marie, Kayla Lynn, Tyler Scott, and Brianna Nicole; his siblings, Sandra Webb and husband John, Robin Hoppes and husband Lance, Brenda Marie, and George Edward; and numerous nieces and nephews.
