AUSTIN -- Here is the fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (full report is available at www.tpwd.state.tx.us)

Freshwater

BRAUNIG Water clear. Black bass are fair on crankbaits and Rat--L--Traps near the jetty and dam. Striped bass are fair down rigging silver and gold spoons and marble spinnerbaits near the dam. Redfish are fair on perch, shad, tilapia, crawfish, and shrimp near Dead Tree Point. Channel catfish are good on liver, shrimp, cheesebait, and cut bait near the discharge. Blue catfish are fair on live bait and cut bait.

CALAVERAS Water clear. Black bass are good on watermelon soft plastic worms and crankbaits near the dam. Striped bass are fair on silver spoons and jigs near the dam, and on cut perch and shad along the shoreline. Redfish are fair down rigging silver spoons near the dam. Channel and blue catfish are good on nightcrawlers, shrimp, and cheesebait. Yellow catfish are slow.

CANYON LAKE Water lightly stained; 59--63 degrees; 9.18’ low. Black bass are good on white Terminator spinnerbaits, pumpkin Whacky Sticks, and albino soft plastic jerkbaits along stickups in 5--10 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on pet spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows upriver in 5--15 feet. Channel catfish are fair upriver. Yellow and blue catfish are good on juglines.

CHOKE CANYON Water clear; 62--66 degrees; 18.09’ low. Black bass are good on swimbaits and Texas rigged soft plastic lizards. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows and fair on jigs under lights at night. Channel and blue catfish are good on punchbait. Yellow catfish are fair on live bait.

COLETO CREEK Water clear; 2.70’ low. Black bass are fair on green pumpkin soft plastics and spinnerbaits in 5--10 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on Charlie slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows and white tube jigs in 8--15 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on perch, liver, and shrimp. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait.

Saltwater

CORPUS CHRISTI Trout are fair to good on the edge of the spoils on Gulps and live shrimp. Black drum are good in the Humble Channel at night on crabs and table shrimp.

PORT ARANSAS Black drum are good in the Shrimpboat Channel on crabs and finger mullet. Redfish and sheepshead are fair to good at the jetty on shrimp.

ROCKPORT Black drum are good in the Lydia Ann Channel on crabs. Trout are fair over grass while drifting with live shrimp.

SOUTH PADRE Black drum, redfish and sheepshead are fair at the jetty. Trout and redfish are fair to good on the edge of the Intracoastal on DOA Shrimp and Gulps. Sheepshead are fair on shrimp around the rocks. Redfish are fair at the Drum Hole.
