Nitro Jam returns to raceway April 5-6
SAN ANTONIO -- When it comes to Nitro Jam -- as with just about everything else in the region -- no one does it bigger than Texas.
And for the third year in a row Nitro Jam’s biggest nights returns to the Lone Star State for the largest U.S.-based Nitro Jam of the year Friday and Saturday, April 5-6, at San Antonio Raceway just south of the city in Marion.
The 2013 San Antonio Nitro Jam presented by CarSafe and Good Vibrations Motorsports will feature an unprecedented lineup spread over two nights featuring the return of 320 mph Top Fuel Dragsters plus three additional flame-throwing, nitro-powered classes, an incredible five jet-powered race machines, the Chevy Rebellion wheelstander, fireworks, two full days of sportsman racing, and much more all crammed into two nights.
“The San Antonio Nitro Jam is by far the most exciting event you will see all year,” said Aaron Polburn, president of IHRA Motorsports. “Since returning to the track in 2011 this event has grown into our largest U.S.-based event and quite frankly one of the biggest drag racing events in the country. The San Antonio fans are incredible and they are once again going to be in for a spectacular show as we pull out all of the stops with the return of Top Fuel plus dozens of unique and awe-inspiring machines all designing to do one thing -- make fans say wow.”
Tickets to the ninth San Antonio Nitro Jam are $30 for adults and $10 for children. Adults can save $5 if they purchase their tickets in advance at www.nitrojam.com.
Showtime is scheduled for 7 p.m. with two rounds of Nitro Jam. Sportsman racing will take place throughout the day.
