SAN ANTONIO -- Sports enthusiasts can enjoy a jam-packed weekend in San Antonio, Thursday through Sunday, March 28-31. With Major League Baseball, NBA basketball, AHL hockey, and NCAA championships, there is something for everyone.

Texas Rangers fans no longer have to travel to Phoenix to get in on the pre-season action. On March 29-30, Major League Baseball heads to the Alamodome for the first time ever, as the Texas Rangers challenge the San Diego Padres in a two-game exhibition. Serving as a final tuneup before the regular season gets under way, this baseball lover’s dream series is expected to draw MLB fans from across the region.

Plus, it promises to be a nail-biting weekend for the San Antonio Spurs, who currently have the best record in the NBA. The AT&T Center will be jumping as the Spurs take on two of the league’s best teams -- the Los Angeles Clippers on March 29, and LeBron James and the Miami Heat on March 31.

And if that’s not enough to get your sports fix, there’s also AHL Hockey and the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championships to keep you occupied.

On March 28, San Antonio’s AHL hockey team, the San Antonio Rampage, takes on the Grand Rapids Griffins at the AT&T Center. Rampage games are fun and affordable for the entire family. From Zamboni rides to human hockey puck challenges, games offer a variety of activities for fans of all ages.

Meanwhile, the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championships will be under way at St. Mary’s University as the top eight teams in the country vie for the national title March 26-29.
