Jury selection is set for July 22 for the trials of three of four suspects arrested Jan. 12 and charged in connection with an alleged dogfighting operation northwest of Floresville. This is after the defendants were arraigned March 19 in Wilson County District Court.
According to court records, 27-year-old Alvin Earl Williams of Livingston, 33-year-old Roland Eric Contreras of San Antonio, and 68-year-old Eusebio Arguijo Martinez of Floresville each were indicted March 8 on one count of dog fighting. All three are set to return to court May 8 for a pretrial hearing, followed by a docket call July 9.
A fourth suspect, 31-year-old Lisa Lynn Guerrero of Morgan City, La., has not been indicted. Assistant District Attorney Audrey Louis of the 81st Judicial District said her case was not presented to the grand jury.
Other defendants set to appear March 19 before Judge Stella Saxon of the 218th District Court included:
•Rosanna Hernandez, 36, of Pandora, who was indicted Nov. 7 on one count each of intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury and failure to stop and render aid, in connection with an Oct. 26, 2012, incident in Floresville. Her bond was increased from $6,000 to $20,000 for each count, as Louis said the earlier bonds were deemed insufficient.
•Luis Alberto Hernandez-Guevara, 34, was set to be arraigned following his March indictment on one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a Feb. 2 incident in which another man was cut with a knife. Hernandez-Guevara, who applied for a court-appointed attorney, is now set to be arraigned April 2.
•Karen Zablosky, 43, indicted Oct. 26, 2012, on one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly shooting another woman with a BB gun Aug. 1, 2012, was present for a pretrial hearing. She is scheduled to appear for another pretrial hearing May 8, followed by docket call June 5. Jury selection for her trial is set for June 17.
•Roxie Jean Talarico, 19, of Pleasanton, who was arraigned on one count of burglary of a habitation following her March 8 indictment. She is set to return to court April 17 for a pretrial hearing, followed by an April 30 docket call. Jury selection ahead of her trial is set for May 13.
•Dallas Warren Crisp, 29, of Pleasanton, was set to be arraigned following his March 8 indictment on one count each of burglary of a habitation and evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle, but he was absent. Louis said jail staff gave him an incorrect court date when he posted bond March 14. He now is set for arraignment June 11.
