Juanita Martinez Courvier, 77, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013, in Floresville, Texas. She was born March 26, 1935, in Santa Maria, the daughter of Claudio Martinez and Luz Garza. A lifelong resident of Floresville, Juanita was a nurse’s aide at the Connally Memorial Medical Center in Floresville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clemente Courvier, in 2011; her parents; and many sisters and brothers.

Juanita is survived by her daughters, Becky Barrientes of Seguin and Rita Courvier and Roxanne Courvier, both of Floresville; her sons, Robert Courvier and wife Margie of Floresville, Ruben Courvier and wife Tina of San Antonio, Ross Courvier of San Antonio, and Clemente Courvier Jr. of Floresville; her brothers, Frank Martinez of San Antonio and Pedro Ramon Orosco of Houston; 26 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A rosary was recited Tuesday, March 26, at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville with the Rev. Phil Henning officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers will be Juanita’s granddaughters.
