Field Appraiser. The Wilson Central Appraisal District is currently accepting applications for the position of Field Appraiser. Responsibilities include office and field work associated with the appraisal of residential property. Applicants must have a high school education or equivalent and have TDLR certification or be willing to complete requirements to obtain such certification.  Applicants must also possess good computer and people skills; have reliable transportation, and a valid Texas Driver License. 1937-2013

Walter Boatwright Jr. passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013, in Stockdale, Texas, at the age of 75 years, 11 months, and 9 days. He was born April 11, 1937, in Nixon, the son of Clara Croft and Walter Boatwright Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Wilson County.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Boatwright, on June 26, 2004; his parents; and his brothers and sisters, Roy, Dan, Bernice, Elvis, Lola, and Jewel.

Walter is survived by his daughers, Linda Robbins and husband Chris of Round Rock, and Helen Calibo of Stockdale; his son, Michael Bailey and wife Melody of San Antonio; his brother, Delbert Boatwright of Texarkana, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Visitation was held Saturday, March 23, at noon in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A graveside funeral service was held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Union Valley Cemetery in Wilson County, with the Rev. Michael Cowey officiating.
