Immanuel Lutheran Church is now hiring for a Youth and Family Ministry Director. Pastoral: Minister to youth and their families during Sunday School and other church programs, being present in their lives outside the church walls, available for common concerns and in crisis situations. Leadership: Recruit and nurture Youth and Family Ministry program. Administration : Manage the planning process and coordinate with Pastor and Youth Committee all regular ministries to youth and their families. This includes youth of all ages on Sunday mornings and mid-week events; assisting with Confirmation, special events, trips and retreats, and parent meetings. Stewardship: Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of youth programs, manage youth ministry budget, and collaborate with the sponsors of each Youth group. Ability to build, lead, and empower youth. Ability to implement a ministry vision. Familiarity with Lutheran Doctrine required; must be comfortable teaching it and representing Lutheran Theology. Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, email, internet, and social media. Supervisory experience preferred. Ability to adapt and evaluate curriculum preferred. Must have excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), and listening skills, with a high degree of initiative and accountability. Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills required, with sensitivity to church members and visitors. Understanding and enjoyment of youth and families and guiding their spiritual development. Frances Merle (Montgomery) Bosanko of Stockdale, Texas, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the age of 80 years. She was born March 23, 1933, to Emory and Myrtie (Smith) Montgomery.

Merle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and room mother. She loved to garden, take photographs, and watch the hummingbirds. She was crowned Queen Melon XI of the Stockdale Watermelon Jubilee in 1954.

Merle was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Bosanko; her parents; and her brother, Dudley Montgomery.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Gabrysch and husband Fabian of Beaumont and Brenda Moore and husband Ronnie of La Vernia; granddaughters Jennifer Fitzgerald and husband John of Keller and Janet Gabrysch of San Marcos; sisters-in-law Eula Montgomery of Stockdale, Margaret “Sue” Rhoads of La Vernia, and Jo Ann Bosanko of Stockdale; brother-in-law L.E. “Butch” Bosanko and wife Marjorie of Stockdale; numerous nieces and nephews; wonderful caretakers, Gloria Cortez, Valerie Uriegas, Janice Krueger, and Sandra Ibrom; and dear friend Shirley Neill.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 27, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Stockdale, with the Rev. Scott Jones officiating.

Interment will follow in the Stockdale Cemetery in Stockdale. Serving as pallbearers will be Patrick Crumrine, David Campbell, Victor Marquez, Terry Wong, James Land, and Owen “Butch” Freasier.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Montgomery, Jodie Montgomery, Tim Ricks, Ronnie Ricks, Thom Ricks, and Steve Ricks.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
