(Lubbock Christian University) TUCSON, Ariz. -- No. 2 Lubbock Christian University (LCU) would receive a trio of consecutive complete-game shutouts in their second day of play in the Tucson Invitational after edging Valley City State University 1-0, downing Dordt College 8-0, and capping off the day with a 9-0 no-hit win against Mount Marty College. Tori Bayer, a 2012 graduate of Floresville High School, completed LCU’s 13th no-hitter, and it is the third no-hitter thrown by a Lady Chaparrals pitcher this season. LCU allowed just three hits on the day and improved their overall record to 22-6 with the wins.

Bayer had not made a start in the circle this season, but made a pair of starts Tuesday. After allowing two hits in a complete-game seven-inning shutout in the opener against Valley City, she took the circle for their final game of the day against Mount Mary. She pitched all five innings and struck out four batters. Bayer faced four batters over the minimum, allowing six base runners off four walks and two errors. Her no-hitter is the first of her LCU career.

Bayer has made six appearances (totaling 14.2 innings) this season with the Lady Chaps and has only allowed hits (four total) in two of the appearances.
