1947-2013

Toribio Guzman “Toby” Santos III passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013, in Midland. He was born Dec. 21, 1947, in Smiley, Texas, to Toribio C. Santos II and Elvida Guzman.

He graduated from Nixon High School, and later married Consuelo Cisneros in May 1969 in a ceremony in Nixon. Toby was a retired meat cutter and enjoyed gardening and selling produce. He was a member of the San Juan Catholic Church in Midland.

Toby was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Pedro Santos; his sister, Carmen Riojas; and his wife, Consuelo.

He is survived by his sons, Toribio “Toby” Santos IV of Midland and Rodger Santos and wife Dorsey of Midland; his daughter, Sonya Santos and husband Randy Barreraz of Midland; his sister, Maria Louisa Guerra of Nixon; two grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, March 25, from 6-8 p.m. in the Ellis Funeral Home in Midland.

A rosary was held on Wednesday, March 27, at 6:30 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

A funeral Mass was held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Nixon.

Interment followed in the Burriola Cemetery in Smiley.
