Offer condolences


Frank H. Ortiz, 74, of La Vernia passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013. He was born on Sept. 7, 1938, in Adkins, Texas, to Felix Ortiz and Augustina Hernandez.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Alberto “Beto” Ortiz.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Tomasa “Tommie” Ortiz of La Vernia; children Frank Adam Ortiz and wife Cindy of La Vernia and David Anthony Ortiz and wife Sarah of New Braunfels; grandchildren Amanda Michelle Vasquez and husband Frank, Adrian Adam Ortiz, Leticia Isabel Ortiz, Liliana Sofia Ortiz, Maya Elizabeth Ortiz, Carlie Jane Stratemann, and Carolyn Jean Stratemann; great-grandchildren Landon Adam Herald, Jacob Anthony Vasquez, Aryana Vasquez, and Frankie Vasquez; brother Tomas Ortiz and wife Norma of Sinton; sister Mary Gutierrez; sister-in-law Eugenia Ortiz; brother-in-law Alex Ojeda and wife Josie; numerous nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 2, from 5-9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Ann’s Catholic Church in La Vernia, with the Rev. Stanislaw Fiuk officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery in La Vernia.
