1947-2013

Ethel Lorraine George left us to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the age of 65. She was born Nov. 11, 1947, to Phyllis George and Henry Steitle.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She loved cooking, working in the yard and garden, cleaning house, shopping, and spending time with friends and family. She also loved partying, drinking beer, and barbecuing brisket, chicken, and country-style spare ribs. Ethel cherished being outdoors with loved ones and she enjoyed trips to Las Vegas with family and friends, where she excitedly played slots. She married the love of her life, Erich Elton George, in 1970. Ethel was a loving mother to Tammy Jean Tuttle and Danny Wayne George. Her grandkids lovingly called her “Mamaw.” Ethel spent 30 years working as a cosmetologist, then retired to be a full-time wife, mother, and grandmother.

Ethel was preceded in death by her father, Henry Steitle; daughter Deborah Kay George; mother-in-law Betty Martin; and brother-in-law Butch Woytasczyk.

She is survived by her parents, Erich Bruno and Phyllis Delores George; her husband, Erich E. George; daughter Tammy Tuttle and husband Frank; son Danny George and wife Jennifer; grandsons T.J. Tuttle, Carson Tuttle, Waylon George, and Rhyder George; sisters Royleen Woytasczyk and Cassandra Cherry and husband Gene; brothers Kenneth Steitle and wife Dawn, Martin Steitle, Claude Steitle and wife Bonnie, and Jerry Steitle and wife Becky; her very special sister-in-law, Lois Marie Downs; and brother-in-law Darrell Downs.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 2, from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home in Boerne, Texas.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries, 243 W. Bandera Road #133, Boerne, TX 78006.
