Tracie Jeanine Day
Traci Jeanine Day began her life on Sept. 5, 1973, in the Daniel Freeman Hospital in Inglewood, Calif. Traci was the third of four children, and the youngest daughter of Donald and Alice Day. On Friday, March 22, 2013, Traci was called by God, from labor to reward.
Traci spent her early years in southern California. She received her elementary and secondary education in the Inglewood Callifornia Independent School District. In addition to being an excellent student, she spent her high school years as a member of the cheering squad. She attended college at California Lutheran University in Oxnard until she moved with her parents to Floresville in August 1994. She accepted Christ as her Savior in October 1992, and was united with the St. Paul Baptist Church in Oxford, Calif. She spent her last years living in Houston and working in the medical billing/customer service field. Loving, committed to family, kind, honest, devoted ... just a few of the words that describe the kind of life Traci lived. She was totally devoted to her nieces and her nephew.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jason Teraile Day; her maternal grandparents, Grover and Sarah Mack; and her paternal grandparents, Audry and Irene Day.
Traci is survived by her loving parents, Donald and Alice Day of Floresville; her two sisters, Shannon Evette Day and Nina Nichelle Day, both of Shreveport, La.; her devoted nephew, Shonn Day of San Antonio; her beautiful twin nieces, Shaliyah and Shyiza Day of Buena Park, Calif.; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville, Texas.
A funeral service was held on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Pastor A.D. Mack, Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Floresville.
