Kendall Talley is among the members of the East Central FFA who had a great showing during the 2013 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. While Kendall placed third in the market swine show, 12 other FFA members placed poultry projects in the sale.

In the turkey show, five members made the prestigious “Top 12” with their turkeys, earning $4,000 for their placing.

In the tom show, Cassidy Jordan received reserve champion with her tom, while Koy Dieckow placed third; Jared Maron, seventh; and Ty Birdsong, ninth place. Others placing toms were Kelsey Mihalski, 21st; Shelbi Knox, 22nd; Krystal Zigmond, 34th; and Jordan Hevner, 47th place.

In the hen show, Kolton Dieckow placed fourth; Garrett Mihalski, 21st; Shaina Franckowiak; 35th; and Aaron Maron, 48th place.

In the broiler pullet show, Tiffany Ott’s broilers placed 68th while Robin Ott took 99th.

Other honors were earned by Kaitlin Kempen, who placed fourth overall in the Junior Speaking Contest, and Trace Bettice, who was awarded a Steer Starlet Award from the Steer Starlet Committee.
