SEGUIN -- The 11th annual Lifegate Falcon Athletics Golf Tournament, set for Saturday, May 18, will be held at The Golf Club of Seguin, a change necessitated by the course renovations at Starcke Park.

A field of 64 or more golfers is expected to participate and enjoy the fun, while helping Lifegate Christian School raise funds for the school’s varsity, junior high, and physical education athletic activities. In 10 previous years, nearly $50,000 has been raised to benefit Lifegate’s athletic programs, providing uniforms, equipment, and upgraded facilities for the student-athletes.

The tournament is a four-person Florida Scramble, with an 8 a.m. start. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. Lunch and beverages will be provided. The entry fee is $90 per player, or $320 for a team of four. Mulligans will be available for $5 each. There are still team and individual player openings available. Hole and other sponsorship opportunities also are available. Golfers can register in advance by contacting John Rabon by telephone at 830-372-0850 or email at lcscoach@hotmail.com. Space permitting, players can also register on the day of the tournament.

Golfers compete for team and individual prizes, including $150 to each member of the winning team. Other prizes will be given to lowest gross score and longest drive. Soechting Motors is again sponsoring the “Hole-in-One” contest, where the winner can drive off in a 2013 GMC truck valued at more than $20,000. Other special prize contests are also planned. Sponsors can contact Brad Akin at 830-582-1511 or email bsa@nixonstatebank.com.
