SAN ANTONIO -- The San Antonio Scorpions will host an intra-squad scrimmage Wednesday, April 10, at Toyota Field at 7 p.m.

The Toyota Field “dry run” will be a full rehearsal for the stadium and its staff. The first-ever scrimmage at Toyota Field is open to the public and admission is free of charge. Gates open at 6 p.m. and concessions, beverages, and new team merchandise will be on sale throughout the scrimmage.

The scrimmage provides a rehearsal for players, fans, and staff alike in preparation for the Grand Opening of the newest American soccer-specific stadium, Toyota Field, on Saturday, April 13, for the Scorpions’ NASL home opener versus the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

“This is exciting,” said Toyota Field General Manager Marc Solis. “This is an excellent opportunity for the community to come out and see their beautiful new stadium for free. It’s an opportunity to walk around and take in everything that Toyota Field has to offer. It also presents an opportunity for us to test our systems and our staff in final preparations for the opening NASL game.”

Tickets continue to move quickly for the April 13 inaugural game at Toyota Field. With fewer than 200 tickets remaining for the game, the Scorpions released additional overflow tickets for sale in the Miller Lite Beer Garden. Fans interested in attending the game are advised to get their tickets now through or Ticketmaster outlets at H-E-B.
