AUSTIN -- Here is the fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (full report is available at www.tpwd.state.tx.us)
Freshwater

BRAUNIG Water clear. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are fair on liver and perch near Dead Tree Point, and down rigging spoons near the dam and jetty. Redfish are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on shrimp, cheesebait, cut bait, and liver. Blue catfish are good on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

BUCHANAN Water lightly stained; 58--62 degrees; 28.68’ low. Black bass are fair on green pumpkin Curb’s jigs, JDC Skip--N--Pop topwaters, and wacky rigged watermelon red Whacky Sticks in creeks. Striped bass are fair on live bait and jigging white Curb’s bucktail jigs around Shaw Island. White bass are good on Pirk Minnows and Tiny Traps near Paradise Point. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are good on juglines and trotlines near Paradise Point.

CALAVERAS Water clear. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are fair on silver spoons and striper jigs near the dam. Redfish are slow. Channel catfish are good on liver, shrimp, cheesebait, and shad. Blue catfish are good on cut bait and liver near 181 Cove. Yellow catfish are slow.

CANYON LAKE Water lightly stained; 59--63 degrees; 9.50’ low. Black bass are good on JDC spider Grubs, green pumpkin Whacky Sticks on jigheads, and grape Scoundrel worms along break lines. Striped bass are fair vertically jigging silver Pirk Minnows and trolling crankbaits. White bass are fair trolling Shad Raps and Daiwa Shad Masters in 10--20 feet. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are fair on live bait.

CHOKE CANYON Water clear; 62--66 degrees; 18.82’ low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and Carolina rigged worms. White bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are fair on minnow tipped jigs. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

COLETO CREEK Water clear; 2.76’ low. Black bass are good on watermelon Rat--L--Traps, soft plastics, and spinnerbaits. Striped bass are fair on white striper jigs. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows in 10--20 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with perch and liver. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch.

FALCON Water stained; 63--67 degrees; 34.21’ low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and Rat--L--Traps. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on minnows, frozen shrimp, shad, and cut bait. Yellow catfish are slow. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

GRANGER Water stained; 58--62 degrees; 0.24’ high. Black bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on chartreuse jigs over brush piles. Blue catfish are fair on stinkbait and Zote soap. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch in the river.

LBJ Water clear; 60--64 degrees; 0.43’ low. Black bass are good on Bleeding Shad Rat--L--Traps, chartreuse creature baits, and pumpkin JDC Skip--N--Pop topwaters on flats. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good vertically jigging Tiny Traps and Pirk Minnows under birds. Crappie are fair on live minnows and white Curb’s crappie jigs in 6--10 feet. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are fair on live bait.

TRAVIS Water clear; 58--62 degrees; 50.99’ low. Black bass are very good on white grubs and watermelon Senkos in 10--20 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows, pumpkin crankbaits, and white grubs. Crappie are fair on minnows and pink tube jigs in 10--20 feet. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shrimp and fresh cut bait in 20--40 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

WALTER E. LONG Water lightly stained. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are fair on silver slabs. White bass are good on watermelon spinnerbaits and minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are fair on nightcrawlers. Yellow catfish are slow.
Saltwater
BAFFIN BAY Trout are fair to good for wader working the King Ranch shoreline on Gamblers, Bass Assassins and Corkies. Black drum are good in the Land Cut on crabs. Trout are fair to good in the Land Cut on live shrimp.

BOLIVAR Trout are fair to good on the south shoreline on soft plastics and plugs. Black drum and redfish are good at Rollover Pass.

CORPUS CHRISTI Trout are fair to good on the edge of the spoils on Gulps and live shrimp. Black drum and redfish are fair to good in the Packery Channel on crabs. Trout are fair to good for waders tossing topwaters in Oso Bay.

FREEPORT Sand trout and sheepshead are good on live shrimp on the reefs in Christmas Bay and Bastrop Bay. Black drum and redfish are good at the jetties on cracked blue crabs.

EAST GALVESTON BAY Trout are good on the south shoreline on Catch 5s, MirrOlures and Catch 2000s. Whiting and sand trout are good on the edge of the Intracoastal on fresh shrimp. Black drum are fair to good in the Ship Channel on crabs.

WEST GALVESTON BAY Trout are fair to good for drifters working shell on live shrimp and Gulps. Sheepshead, redfish and black drum are good at the jetty on shrimp and crabs. Redfish are good in the back lakes on shrimp and Gulps.

EAST MATAGORDA Trout are fair to good while drifting deep shell with plastics and live shrimp. Redfish are fair for drifters in the back lakes on live shrimp. Redfish are fair to good on the edge of the Intracoastal on crabs and mullet.

MATAGORDA Redfish are fair to good on the edge of Oyster Lake on shrimp and crabs. Black drum and redfish are fair to good at the jetty on crabs.

PORT ARANSAS Black drum are good in the Shrimpboat Channel on crabs and finger mullet. Redfish, black drum and sheepshead are fair to good at the jetty on shrimp.

PORT ISABEL Trout and redfish are fair to good at Gas Well Flats on live shrimp. Redfish and snook are fair to good on the flats and in South Bay on DOA Shrimp and live shrimp.

PORT MANSFIELD Trout are fair to good on topwaters around sand and grass. Redfish are fair to good while drifting pot holes on Gulps and DOA Shrimp. Black drum and redfish are good on crabs at East Cut.

PORT O’CONNOR Trout and redfish are fair on soft plastics over soft mud. Trout and redfish are fair for drifters working the back lakes with live shrimp.

ROCKPORT Trout are fair to good in Morris--Cummings Cut on free--lined shrimp. Black drum are good in the Lydia Ann Channel on crabs. Redfish are good in the back of Allyn’s Bight on Gulps, mullet and shrimp.

NORTH SABINE Trout are fair to good on the Louisiana shoreline on topwaters and Corkies. Flounder are fair on jigs tipped with shrimp around marsh drains.

SOUTH SABINE Flounder are good on the flats on the incoming tide. Sheepshead, redfish and black drum are good at the jetty on live shrimp. Trout are fair to good around Garrison Ridge on topwaters and Corkies.

SOUTH PADRE Trout are good around the spoil islands, channel edges and color changes on DOA Shrimp in 3--4 feet of water. Black drum, redfish and sheepshead have taken at the jetty. Flounder are fair to good on the spoils along the ICW.

TEXAS CITY Black drum are good in are channel on crabs. Trout are fair on the reefs on live shrimp on the incoming tide.

TRINITY BAY Trout are good for wader working the east shoreline on soft plastics. Catfish are good around Long Island Bayou and shrimp. Redfish are fair to good for waders around Rabbit Bayou.
