Compared to last week: Hay prices generally steady. Trade continues fairly slow with limited buyer demand. Few spot loads traded at near steady levels on both alfalfa and grass hay. However, most buyers and sellers in process of negotiating on new crop prices and contracts. Prices for hay and pellets quoted per ton except where noted.

North, Central, & East Texas

Alfalfa: Small Squares: Delivered: Premium to Supreme limited test $8-$12 per bale.

Large Squares: Delivered: Premium to Supreme $280-$300. Good to Premium $260-$280.

Coastal Bermuda: Small Squares: FOB: Good to Premium $230-$265, $7-$8 per bale; Fair to Good $5-$7.

Large Rounds: FOB: Good to Premium $50-$90; $100-$180 per ton, Good $40-$50 per roll, $100-$120 per ton; Fair $40 per roll.

South Texas Hay Report

Coastal Bermuda: Small squares: FOB: Good to Premium $230-$265, $7-$8 per bale; Fair to Good $165-$230, $5-$7 per bale.

Large rounds: FOB and delivered locally: Good to Premium $120-$180; $60-$100 per roll, Good $50-$60 per roll, $100-$120 per ton.
