Offer condolences


James L. “Jim” Freasier Sr. entered eternal rest Friday, April 12, 2013, in his home in Floresville at the age of 82 years, 9 months, and 6 days. Jim was born July 6, 1930, in Stockdale, Texas, the son of B. and Willie Katherine Lightfoot Freasier.

Jim attended school in Presidio. He was a rancher and electrical contractor. Jim married Nell Taylor on Nov. 23, 1950, in San Antonio. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Olive Coleman and Willette Goodwin; brothers Chester Freasier, B. Freasier Jr., Glenn Freasier, Bob Freasier, and Jack Freasier; and son Stephen Michael Freasier.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of more than 62 years, Nell Taylor Freasier; his sons, James Freasier Jr. and wife Betty and Paul Freasier and wife Connie; daughters Donna Vick and husband Philip and Loretta Freasier; his brother, Tommy Freasier and wife Sue; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 15, at noon in the Floresville Church of Christ in Floresville.

A funeral service was held on Monday at 2 p.m. in the church officiated by Pastor Gordon Lindley.

Interment followed in the Floresville City Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Tom Bonham, Sammy McKnight, Jay Dunn, Mike Olguin, Owen Freasier, and Lloyd Freasier.

Memorial contributions may be made to Floresville Church of Christ Benevolence Fund, 1204 Third St., Floresville, TX 78114, or to a charity of one’s choice.
