Heritage Days pie contest, BBQ cook-off May 3-5
Cowboy Fellowship will host a pie contest and a barbecue cook-off during the Heritage Days celebration Friday through Sunday, May 3-5. Cowboy Fellowship is located at 561 F.M. 3350, between Pleasanton and Jourdanton. Heritage Days events will take place at the new covered facility on-site or in and around the Cowboy Fellowship church building.
The rules for the pie contest are simple and anyone can enter. Fruit, nut, or cream pie entries can be entered between 9-10 a.m. Saturday. Judging will begin at 10:30 a.m. Recipe must be attached to the entry. All pies must be in a disposable 9-inch pan. One entry per category will be accepted. No refrigeration will be available. Pies will be
judged on appearance, crust, flavor, and originality. There is no entry fee for the pie contest. All pies will become property of Cowboy Fellowship at time of registration.

The barbecue cook-off is a new event this year. For a $25 entry fee per barbecue team, teams will compete for prizes. Meat will be provided.

Other events include a chuck wagon contest, mutton bustin’, a youth rodeo, and jackpot bull riding during the weekend, followed by the final team roping event in the Cowboy Fellowship series on Sunday.
