Poth Page: Poth Catholic Daughters hold show, luncheon
Rosalie Kasper receives her 60-year pin from Margie Arnold.
“Mardi Gras” was the theme of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Anna Poth No. 1178 annual spring style show and luncheon. The event was held March 9 in the Blessed Sacrament Parish hall.
Margie Arnold and Dorothy Wiatrek greeted and presented guests with metallic bead necklaces. To carry out the theme, guests tables were decorated with ribbon table runners, floral sprays and picks, feathers, masks, metallic purple, red, gold, and green beads, and hanging whirls from the ceiling. The stage was decorated with spring flowers and a table and chairs covered in gold satin cloth and netting.
The mistress of ceremonies was Regent Joyce Labus, who welcomed the guests and gave the invocation. Sixty-year members Dorothy Hill and Rosalie Kasper and 70-year honor member Ruth Poth received pins and were recognized. Rosalie received her 60-year pin at Floresville Nursing & Rehab Center.
Guests were served a cup of tomato soup, chicken, broccoli, and pasta salads. A dessert of cheesecake complemented the meal.
A style show with spring fashions entertained the guests with the Catholic Daughter members participating as models. Door prizes were drawn.
Regent Joyce Labus gave the closing comments and thanked the guests for attending.
