Deputies charge two with burglary
FLORESVILLE -- Two San Antonio men face charges following an April 15 burglary at a home on Mourning Dove northeast of here.
Brian Christopher Ermel, 40, and 42-year-old Jason Ray Jacobs were arrested outside the home. Each was charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony. This was after an occupant of the home reported that the two told her to leave after forcing their way in, according to Investigator Richard Nichols of the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office.
Nichols said the female reported that she was waiting for carpet installers to arrive. At approximately 3:40 p.m., the two men came to the home, and affirmed that they were the carpet installers. Once inside, they then revealed their real intentions, stating that they were looking to harm a male occupant of the residence. After telling them that the man was not present, the woman was ordered from the home.
The two suspects then allegedly stole some of the man’s belongings before attempting to flee. They were met outside the home by Wilson County sheriff’s deputies, including Jeff Roser, who arrested the two.
Both men were transported to the Wilson County Jail, where each was assessed $40,000 bond. According to jail records, Ermel was released after posting bond, while Jacobs still was in custody as of April 22.
