May trial set for burglary suspect
Jury selection in the trial of suspected burglar Roxie Jean Talarico, 19, of Pleasanton remains set for May 13, according to Wilson County District Court records.
Talarico, who is charged with one count of burglary of a habitation following a Jan. 15 burglary in Floresville and a subsequent pursuit with police, was present in court April 17 for a pretrial hearing. Her next court appearance is a docket call set for April 30. Jury selection in the trial of her alleged accomplice, 29-year-old Dallas Warren Crisp of Pleasanton -- who was arraigned April 2 -- is set for June 17.
In addition to criminal defendants, 218th District Judge Stella Saxon also saw plaintiffs and defendants in several civil matters April 17. One case, Falls City National Bank v. Jerome Douglas Kizzart, reached a resolution. Kizzart, whose professional corporation rented the Connally Memorial Medical Center’s North County Health Center, borrowed $25,000 in September 2009 to assist with startup costs, according to court documents.
Kizzart in March 2012 refinanced the loan for a new principal of $32,097.58, which was to be repaid within one year, but the doctor defaulted on the loan.
Both parties agreed to a judgment in which the bank will recover the entire principal plus more than $5,000 in attorney fees, court costs, late fees, and interest to date. An additional 18 percent interest is to be assessed until the entire balance is paid, according to the agreement signed by Saxon and both attorneys in the case.
