My name is Eloi R. Cormier and I am a candidate for city council.

My wife, Doris, and I have been married for 46 years and have resided in La Vernia for the past 15 years. We have two married sons and three grandchildren and are members of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Prior to retirement in 2001, I was a truck driver for 35 years and owned a cleaning business for eight years.

For the past four years, I have been privileged to serve La Vernia as a member of the city council. I have participated in securing H-E-B for our community, worked on the critical water well project, and the development of La Vernia Crossing. As a member of the council, I voted on tough decisions on day-to-day projects, the annual budget, and ordinances that come to our attention.

I would welcome the opportunity to continue serving our city as a member of the council while striving to make La Vernia a better place to live and raise our children. I am pro-business and look forward to bringing in more modern conveniences and businesses. I am asking for your vote on May 11.
