My name is John G. Bilicek. I am asking for your vote in the upcoming LVISD trustee election, Place 3.

Prior to serving as a trustee, I was a member of the facilities committee. I served on that committee for several years.

I have a background in school operations and construction and have been employed at Northside ISD for the past 17 years.

I am an active member of St. Ann church and have chaired/served on a number of committees. I have also coached for six years with the La Vernia Little League.

I am proud of the accountability and achievement scores of our district. LVISD is consistently above state and regional averages in almost all areas. Concerns have been identified and I have personally met with school leaders regarding improvement in those areas. We have worked hard at keeping tax rates under control. When I came to office, the tax rate was $1.51. The rate for this year is $1.39. LVISD had no layoffs due to the cuts in education funding.

If elected, I will continue to work for the good of our district and to ensure good strategies are in place to deal with the continued growth.

Just as I thought, his reaction was to approve 5 percent pay raise to all employees.

John: Please explain to me why you approved a $695,257 to anyone employed with the district a one-time stipend last year, even those who had displine problems?

Hi John. Haven't seen you in years. Looks like you lost some hair since the old days, happens to all of us I guess. Good luck in your race.
