I am Richard Schier and I have resided in La Vernia for 26 years. I have been married for 37 years to Priscilla. We have two children who are La Vernia graduates and both have teaching degrees. I am a Navy veteran and have been an assistant collision center manager for 37 years. I am a member of the Holy Name Society at Annunciation and have held office in previous years. I currently work with our CCD program.

I have been involved with the La Vernia school district since 1989 with PTO, Athletic Boosters, and Band Boosters, serving as an officer in all organizations.

Since being elected to the board, we have completed several building and athletic projects. This district weathered the Austin budget cuts without laying off personnel and without raising taxes.

I am running for this office to continue the efforts of retaining and hiring the highest qualified teachers. I want to make La Vernia ISD a sought-after place to work.

If re-elected, I promise to continue to make education a priority and find means to keep the district updated for the students of La Vernia ISD. Thank you for your support in Place 2.
