Help Wanted

ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.
Office help needed, MUST HAVE QuickBook experience, some experience in bookkeeping, answering calls, filing, organization, and advertising for the company; starting pay $12, hours are 11:30-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, may become full-time. A lifelong resident of Wilson County, I graduated from Floresville High School and attended Texas Lutheran College. I married my high school sweetheart, Janet Tatum; we have been married for 40 years. We have two children, Jason and Melissa, a daughter-in-law, Amanda, and a grandson, Jack; all live in Wilson County.

I am a managing partner for Modern Woodmen of America and have worked in the insurance and financial services business for the past 32 years. I have won many company and industry awards over the years. I am the president-elect of the San Antonio Chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.

I have been involved for the past five years with the Consolata Healthcare Foundation working with Connally Memorial Medical Center. I have served as president for the past three years.

I recognize the challenges and opportunities that face our hospital. We need the best health care possible. The concerns of the citizens will be my priority. I know what those concerns are, having lived and worked in this county all my life. I run a small business and understand what it takes to achieve excellence while also watching the bottom line.
