The Falls City Beaverette track and field team is the area champion for 2013. FLATONIA -- The Falls City varsity girls and boys track teams competed at the area meet April 10 in Flatonia. This is the first year the area has opted to pass the district meet and compete first at the area level, combining districts 29-1A and 30-1A.

Although field events were rescheduled due to weather, the running was completed in Flatonia on the 10th. The field events were later held in Yorktown on April 12. The top four places in each event advance to the regional meet to be held Friday and Saturday, April 26-27, at D.W. Rutledge Stadium on the campus of Judson High School.


Results from the area meet are as follows:

100-meter dash:

Hannah Lyssy-5th, Sydney Elkins-6th.

400-meter dash:

Taylor Dziuk-5th, Alyssa Dziuk-7th.

800-meter run:

Alyssa Dziuk-1st.

1,600-meter run:

Katie Pollok-2nd.

100-meter hurdles:

Kayla Jendrusch-6th.

300-meter hurdles:

Kaelan Cheatham-2nd.

4x100-meter relay:

Haleigh Blocker, Kaelan Cheatham, Taylor Dziuk, Kayla Kotara -- 1st.

4x200-meter relay:
