SAN MARCOS -- The Region IV Tennis Tournament was held at Texas State University, April 17-18, and Jordan Jackson represented the Stockdale Brahmas in boys singles.

On the first day, Bishop was the first opponent. Jackson won in two sets, 6-0, 6-1. The next match against Ingram Tom Moore had the same score, and the two wins put Jackson into the semifinals the following day. A win over Refugio, 6-1, 6-1, sent him to the finals.

Goliad played well and gave Jackson his first loss at 6-3, 6-3, but there was a playback for second place. For the third year in a row, Stockdale and Schulenburg played in the regional tournament, and after a hard-fought, three-set, three-hour match, Jackson came out on top with a score of 4-6, 6-1, 6-4, giving him a second-place finish.

The state tournament will be held Monday and Tuesday, April 29-30, on the campus of Texas A&M University.
