1935-2013

Esteven “Steve” Guerrero Sr. passed away Friday, April 26, 2013, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 77 years, 5 months, and 2 days. He was born Nov. 24, 1935, in Floresville, the son of Frank and Juanita Travieso Guerrero. He was a lifelong resident of Floresville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Tomasa Guerrero; his parents; and his daughter, Rosalia Guerrero.

Steve is survived by his daughters, Mary Barrera and husband Robert of Floresville, Elodia Martinez of Floresville, Thelma Guerrero of Floresville, Rosalie Ervin and husband Jim of Waco, and Jessica Guerrero of San Antonio; his sons, Steve Guerrero Jr. of Floresville and Daniel Guerrero and wife Christina of San Antonio; his brother, Tomas Guerrero of Floresville; 27 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Visitation was held Tuesday, April 30, at 5 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville with the Rev. Phil Henning officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steve’s grandsons.
