Hazardous waste collection set
The San Antonio River Authority (SARA) and Wilson County will conduct a household hazardous waste collection event for Wilson County residents on Saturday, May 18, from 8 a.m. to noon in the Precinct No. 1 yard at 142 F.M. 536 in Floresville.
Residents can take the following household hazardous waste:
Automobile tires with no rims, acids, antifreeze, used motor oil and filters, pool chemicals, lawn and garden chemicals, and batteries, to name a few. Used electronics such as microwaves, blenders, toasters, televisions, monitors, and computer parts will also be accepted. In addition, pharmaceutical waste, to include prescription and nonprescription meds, pet medications, inhalers, and vitamins, will be accepted.
Items not to bring include:
Trailer, tractor, or tires with rims, agricultural chemicals, ammunition, explosives, scrap metals, large appliances, containers larger than 5 gallons, syringes, oxygen tanks, and more.
Materials will be collected on a first-come, first-served basis.
