Catholic Life Insurance, the nation’s eighth largest fraternal life insurer, has announced that local high school students Madison Pollok and Liesel Raabe of Floresville and Seth Dunn of Poth were selected to receive the 2013 All American Scholar Award. Each year, Catholic Life awards 35 scholarships worth $1,000 each to graduating high school seniors who excel in their academic studies and dedicate themselves to making a difference in their communities through active volunteerism.

Madison, who plans to attend Texas A&M University in College Station, is the daughter of Roger and Carol Pollok. Her extracurricular activities and volunteerism include St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Teen ACTS, American Cancer Society, Link Crew Tutor, 4-H Club, Student Council, Athletic Booster Club, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, National Honor Society, Yearbook, and Leo Club.

Liesel, who also plans to attend Texas A&M University in College Station in the fall, is the daughter of John and Tammy Raabe. She is actively involved with Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Teen ACTS, Junior Catholic Daughters, Knights of Columbus, National Honor Society, 4-H Club, student government, and varsity basketball, cross country, and track.

Seth is the son of Gregory and Terrie Dunn, and plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin. His extracurricular activities and volunteerism include UIL basketball, UIL Academics, National Beta Club, FFA, Blessed Sacrament Church Vacation Bible School, Shattered Dreams Program, Relay For Life, Habitat for Humanity, and Poth Food Pantry.
