ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

1948-2013

Dorothy Pillow, 65, of Beeville died on Saturday, May 4, 2013. She was born on Jan. 10, 1948, in Alice, Texas, to John and Mary Andrews Wood. She was a 1966 graduate of Karnes City High School and had resided in Victoria for several years.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; brother John T. Wood Jr.; and one granddaughter, Valarie Vela.

She is survived by one son, Brian Pillow and wife Jessica of Beeville; two daughters, Melissa Bass Derment of Beeville and Diana Pillow Vela of Victoria; four sisters, Margie Rogers and husband Johnny and Karen Kroll and husband Mike, all of Karnes City, Darlene Underhill of Victoria, and Gail Wood of Beeville; brother James Wood and wife Jayma of Karnes City; 16 grandchildren, Felecia Vela, Ben Brookins, Jessica Yzaguirre and husband Gabriel, Tyler Durment, Bianca Precise and husband Kenneth, Matt Pillow, Mark Pillow, Erica Arciba and husband Jasper, Kayli Mumphord, Amanda Pillow, Dexter Durment, Jade Lewis, Krista Zapata, Vincent Vela, Jake Zaiontz, and Kasia Zapata; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A memorial service was held on Monday, May 13, at 10 a.m. in the Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel in Beeville with the Rev. Doyle Barnett officiating.
