Q: You’re the star, a writer and an executive producer on your show. Has that turned out as you expected?

A: It is, but I never thought there would be so many facets of the job that I would enjoy doing. That was a big surprise. I love editing so much. I love writing and acting, but I spend 90 percent of my time in the editing room.

Q: What did you like about editing?

A: You can build moments that didn’t exist. It saves you a lot of time on set, for sure. You feel like a wizard, and it’s incredibly gratifying when you create something out of the air. Editing is one of the unexpected joys.

Q: Does the cast have to be especially nice to you since you’re also the show-runner?

A: I like to think they’re nice to me because of my sparkling personality and kindness and beauty, but that might have something to do with it. Cynically, someone might think that.

Q: You’ve been renewed for a second season. Do you have plans?

A: We never did anything with snow. That, to me, would be fantastic. So next year, I want to do some snow stuff. It’s the most magical, decadent thing we do.

I’d love if the character dated a plastic surgeon. That would be fun ... and so stressful. He keeps staring at her nose. I notice noses.

Q: Don’t you like yours?

A: Nah. It’s on my list of changes. I could change it.
