We have had a very busy April and an even busier May here at Stockdale Independent School District.

The elementary campus has many things going on this month. Highlighting the festivities will be the field day Friday, May 17, and the awards ceremony Wednesday, May 29. Kindergarten graduation is set for Friday, May 31, at 9 a.m.

The junior high school will also be busy on May 31. The sixth-grade awards assembly is set for 8 a.m. and the seventh-grade awards assembly follows at 9 a.m.; the eighth-grade graduation is set for 10 a.m.

The high school will have the culture fair Wednesday, May 22, and HOPE day is set for Friday, May 24th. Once again, May 31 is a big day with high school graduation occurring at 7 p.m. in the high school gym.

Teachers of the month for April are:

•Lori Baker -- elementary school

•Neal Bennett -- junior high school

•Christa Ploch -- high school.

Summer is just around the corner ...

Paul Darilek is the superintendent of the Stockdale Independent School District.
